We haven’t had chance to showcase many bi-fold doors at all as we don’t often get the chance to go back and get a fully furnished finish picture. So here we proudly present this job.

Three white replacement windows fitted in the house with dummy vents and a lovely one off black antique square lead design rather than the traditional lead that is grey once oxidised.

On the superb extension we fitted 2 anthracite grey (ral 7016) windows and two 3 pane Aluminium Bi-Folding Doors to truly bring the outside in for those beautiful summer days that will be fast approaching.

It’s all made possible when you have all the right trades working together and we owe a big thanks to BP BUILDERS Christopher Price
for using us as one of those trades.

FENSA have produced a TV advert to promote the benefits of their certification system, and the importance of choosing an installation company who are members of the scheme.

Cheshire View Home Improvements started trading in August 2017, and the two co-directors Rob and Mike decided that from the start they were going to do things properly and set off on a quest for FENSA registration. FENSA is a government authorised Competent Person Scheme for the replacement of windows, doors, roof windows and roof lights in England and Wales. All members have undergone a stringent vetting process to enable them to self-certify compliance with the relevant Building Regulation.

Another happy customer after this install in Macclesfield, we fitted a high security composite door and side frame in the lovely SAGE colour complete with triple glazed glass design and high security lock. Also an extension window above, then two small frames to the rear of the property and another composite door again finished in sage green. Working along side quality builders and joiners the extension now looks beautiful with the superb insulated cladding surrounding it.

Added to this we vastly improved the entire homes security by swapping every door barrel for 3* superior anti bump, pick, drill cylinders and made them keyed alike (all the same key throughout) so the homeowner has the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to security and style of course.

What do you want from new windows and doors? https://www.cheshire-view.co.uk/what-do-you-want-from-new-windows-and-doors/ Mon, 21 Jan 2019 14:06:25 +0000 https://www.cheshire-view.co.uk/?p=1287 The post What do you want from new windows and doors? appeared first on Composite Doors | Windows | Conservatories | Cheshire.

]]>

What do you want from new windows and doors? Certainly improved thermal efficiency and the lower energy costs that brings and with “A” rated windows that is a given.

Also a higher degree of security would be on most peoples list of priorities, with multipoint locking mechanisms on both windows and doors accompanied by the latest 3* locking door cylinders to reduce the chance of forced entry through picking or bumping the cylinder.

Safety should also at the forefront of the mind especially if there are small children or vulnerable adults in the home. A lot of the homes in which we replace windows don’t have a proper escape route in the event of a fire. Many bedrooms have small opening top lights above a fixed double glazed unit that provide ventilation but not a means of escape. Trying to smash your way out would be very difficult especially without some type of heavy solid instrument, the jagged pieces of glass left in the frame would prove an equally lethal hazard. If the glass were toughened smashing it would be almost impossible.

An egress or fire escape window needs to have a minimum of 450mm clear opening in any direction and special hinges are usually required to achieve this.

We don’t intend to frighten anyone, indeed the time you would require the use of a fire escape may not ever, indeed probably would never come but we all pay for car and house insurance in the hope that we are never going to have to use it.

Finally improved aesthetics, the look of your home from both the exterior and the interior and to this end there is a very wide choice. From the type of material, usually aluminium or PVCu, to the balance between opening and fixed lights, whether to have dummy sashes to give that balance or choose a style that avoids that need.

Colour is today a huge variable, whereas one time the choice was either white or some kind of striped brown that was supposed to mimic timber today every colour of the rainbow and many in between is available. Black and Anthracite Grey are a very popular choice while Chartwell Green is finding a niche in period style houses. And that is the crux, the type of home you have, the material from which it is constructed to the external colour of the brick, stone or render will all play a role in deciding which colour you will choose for the outside while for the inside white is the popular choice as it is neutral and gives the feeling of light and airiness but that is not a fixed rule.

Give Rob or Mike a call to discuss your options, we don’t employ salesmen or tactics our advice is based on may years experience within the industry.

Is Grey The New White? https://www.cheshire-view.co.uk/is-grey-the-new-white/ Thu, 26 Jul 2018 11:37:45 +0000 https://www.cheshire-view.co.uk/?p=924 The post Is Grey The New White? appeared first on Composite Doors | Windows | Conservatories | Cheshire.

Is grey the new white?? Becoming ever more popular here’s a stunning example of grey working to its full potential on this extended property. All the windows and doors replaced except the main front entrance door as it was already installed and only a couple years old. Being the honest tradesmen we are, we suggested having the outer frame sprayed in this instance, to save on the cost of a brand new door, which we fully understood would have been expensive originally. As always A rated energy efficient windows and doors carrying the full 10 year insurance backed guarantee and full FENSA CERTIFICATE.

We are noticing that a lot more customer are interested in colour, rather than plain white, although you could say the grey is not a true colour, it does seem to be the most popular choice. What could be driving this forward is the increase in aluminium windows, which are predominantly grey. You might have noticed a lot of new build properties with grey windows and either cream or white rendered walls.

If want to have an informal chat about your windows or doors, call us on: 01260 564424. We do not have any sales people, the people you talk to will be the guys fitting your windows and doors.

Before

After

Another happy customer today in Macclesfield, we installed a lovely blue dual glazed composite door to this property replacing a poor upvc door with a failing locking mechanism, upon further inspection after deglazing the old panel it wasn’t even ply reinforced at all! This new high security door is also secured by design police approved as requested by our customer for extra piece of mind. I must say so myself it looks fantastic.

A complete transformation of a job here by us on Holmeschapel Rd Congleton, replacing a very old worn out wooden door that was a slight task for us but just look at the replacement! Solid, secure, stylish finished in a lovely golden oak grain finish to keep the style of the property at the front in-keeping. Also a new solid composite back door and flag frame accompanied by all the back upstairs windows replaced for A rated upvc windows fitted to our usual high standards. We had very positive feedback from this job from our customers, that means a lot to us and all work as ever complete with insurance backed guarantee and full FENSA CERTIFICATE.

Yet another high security composite door installed by us yesterday in Macclesfield. We understand cost is always a massive factor in having home improvement work undertaken and after a good chat with our customer we tweaked this design to fit their budget so they could have the superiority of a composite door instead of a upvc panel door, simple but still extremely effective and the customer was over the moon with the difference having complained about thinking they could “push the old door through” without even trying!

Extremely old poorly installed door that had our customer was extremely worried about having not long purchased property. This door had well and truly outstayed its welcome!

New, secure, draught free and still stylish solid 44mm door slab makes this new virtuoso composite door a class above.

FENSA Registration.

Registration Number 37277

Cheshire View Home Improvements started trading in August 2017, and the two co-directors Rob and Mike decided that from the start they were going to do things properly and set off on a quest for FENSA registration. FENSA is a government authorised Competent Person Scheme for the replacement of windows, doors, roof windows and roof lights in England and Wales. All members have undergone a stringent vetting process to enable them to self-certify compliance with the relevant Building Regulation.

The first step along that path to registration was to have Rob certified for a FENSA card, to demonstrate that he has what it takes to be a competent installer and surveyor. Rob has been installing windows for the last 15 years, along with some time spent manufacturing them as well, so Rob certainly knows what he is doing. This was never going to be a difficult process, and indeed from Rob’s point of view it wasn’t, however from the perspective of organising a number of tests and inspections, while running a young business was a different story.

One of the first hurdles to overcome was getting the Insurance Backed Guarantee in place, which all FENSA registered companies need to have. This proved quite laborious, being a young company the under writers were nervous of insuring them, but having demonstrated the financial backing the business had, this was eventually overcome.

Finally there was the on-site inspection, which also involved showing that the company’s paper work and systems were compliant and fit for purpose. Each FENSA member has to follow a strict procedure when surveying and quoting on a project. After following the three-month process Mike and Rob are very pleased to be able to say that Cheshire View Home Improvements is a FENSA registered company

They celebrated their successful registration with a well-earned beer or two, but no more as they have quite a few early starts over the coming months as the order book is filling up quickly.

Cheshire View was formed out of a passion for giving customers looking for home improvement products a point of call where they will get an unrivalled level of service and an honest but professional approach. There are many window, door and home improvement companies around, but none have the same dedication and experience of Cheshire View.

Mike Spain (director) has been a well-known figure in the home improvements industry for many years, and most recently was the joint managing director of a major window and door manufacturer, supplying the whole UK market. Having held a variety of positions with different businesses in varied sectors of the industry Mike brings a depth of experience that is hard to match.

Rob Bailey (director) has been installing windows, doors and conservatories for over 14 years, his fastidious approach and excellent technical knowledge means that he is an invaluable resource to the business and there is little that Rob does not know about installation.

Together they form the backbone of the company with the main emphasis on quality and customer care. “One thing I have learnt over many years in business, is that customers are the most important part of any successful enterprise”, comments Mike. “This was at the core of the idea which became Cheshire View. We can supply and fit as many high quality products as possible, but if the customer is not happy, we are not happy. Our goal is that Cheshire View exceeds the customer’s expectations, both in the quality of the product, the installation experience and overall satisfaction. That’s what sets Cheshire View apart from other companies”

Call us today for an informal chat, we don’t believe in any high pressure sales tactics, which is probably why Cheshire View is receiving some great reviews on social media.
